Hello! I’m Christél.
For the last few years I've worked at the intersection of people and systems inside a busy nonprofit that provides spiritual care, counselling and psychosocial support in public hospitals. I worked across finance, marketing and fundraising, but I was also involved in reporting, the numbers behind the mission, the website and the email systems. I wrote the trauma counselling skills course, organised two conferences, ran donation drives, set up email signatures, and handled a good deal of the operations and people side.
Yes, I'm a jack of all trades - or, put better, I'm not a one-trick pony. I've always liked the parts other people find tedious - the reconciliations, the compliance, the reporting, the operations. I just get a kick out of figuring things out.
The way I work is simple, but guided by ethics: focus on the mission, cancel out the noise, and treat people as human and not line items. I'd rather flag a gap than paper over it, and I try to do work I'd be proud of the next day - and years after - work that does justice to the people and the mission.
I'm also in my final year of a Bachelor of Applied Social Science in Psychology and Counselling at SACAP. It feels like the natural next chapter - moving from caring for an organisation that cares for people, toward doing that work more directly, one person at a time.
And when I'm not in a spreadsheet or a textbook, I'm usually making something with my hands - projects around the home, or beading, which keeps me grounded. It's a reminder that the same eye for detail shows up whether I'm building a budget or a website, or stringing a bracelet.
That's the thinking I bring to Holy Moly. I aim to do marketing that speaks to South Africans - not targeting people for the sake of targeting, not ads for the sake of ads, but reaching the people who'd genuinely benefit from what my clients offer. Honest work for people doing good things.
